Biggest challenges faced by entrepreneurs

What are your biggest challenges as an entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur?

Here are some of mine and some common ones.

Selling

I love building products so the selling part can be very challenging for me.

I would not consider myself to be a great salesperson, but here are some tips:

• Believe in the product you are selling - if you don't, it will be very difficult to sell, as people can smell you not liking your own product.
• Follow up with a potential buyer
• Be very clear on your pricing

Spending money

When we work hard to make money, its perceived value increases, meaning that it can be incredibly difficult to spend that money. In some cases it can be great, however, other times it can hold us back from improving our business.

A simple test to ask yourself is - will it improve your business? If so, then spend the money, and if not, consider trying to find ways not to spend the money. This doesn't mean taking shortcuts but means being intentional about what you spend your money on.

Hiring

I'm absolutely no expert on hiring, so please seek advice from other places, but hiring can be an incredibly difficult process for many entrepreneurs.

One simple piece of advice is to be very clear on who you are looking for - their role and required attributes. You may wish to consult with others or even hire external head hunters.

Time management

Time is limited for everyone but what is in our hands is how we decide to use it.

Try to create processes to work on tasks you enjoy and delegate tasks you do not enjoy, are not good at or take too long.
